Spectradyne's particle analysis technology is rapidly being adopted as a powerful and significantly more accurate alternative to light scattering-based methods of particle analysis. The technology is fast and easy to use, and accurately measures the concentration and size of particles from 50 nanometers to 10 microns in diameter in a liquid, using a disposable microfluidic cartridge. Spectradyne's patented technology uses Microfluidic Resistive Pulse Sensing (MRPS) to count and size particles one-by-one electrically—not optically. MRPS is a modern implementation of a technique commonly referred to as Coulter counting that has long served as the gold standard for quantifying larger microparticles and cells. Spectradyne’s new microfluidic implementation enables unparalleled strengths: Complex biological samples such as plasma and cell culture media can be analyzed directly and total analysis of a sample requires only 3 microliters, enabling completely new science to be realized.
