Shae Hong is a serial entrepreneur who founded his first company, ePods Inc., as a college student at the University of Washington. ePods grew from 0-160 employees in just over 16 months and launched one of the first internet appliances in 1999 promising to get people on the internet in less than 5 minutes and making their experience easy and seamless. He also created and launched one of the first MP3 players, the Rocbox, to compete with the iPod and in partnership with Jay-Z and Damon Dash from Rocafella Records and Rocawear. The Roc Box was sold at Comp USA and Macy’s.In 2003 he founded Made by Gather, a company that’s mission is to inspire the next generation and redefine home cooking and home decor through their innovative and thoughtfully designed kitchenware and home products.
