Sampson Davis, MD has an inspiring life story that illustrates overcoming adversity and achieving success. Despite growing up in a challenging environment in Newark, New Jersey, surrounded by poverty, crime, and drugs, he managed to excel academically while navigating the social dynamics of his community. During his time at University High School, Dr Davis formed a close bond with 2 fellow students, Rameck Hunt, MD, and George Jenkins, MD, MHA. Together, they made a pact to become doctors, a promise they eventually fulfilled. Dr Davis became a board-certified emergency medicine physician and together they founded The Three Doctors foundation, a non-profit organization that offers free public health, education, leadership, and mentoring programs.

Dr Davis has also co-authored 3 New York Times bestselling books, titled The Pact, We Beat the Street and The Bond. In May 2018, Dr Davis released his newest book, The STUFF: Unlock Your Power to Overcome Obstacles, Soar and Succeed.

Dr Davis's accomplishments and inspiring journey have garnered significant attention in the media. He has appeared on various talk shows, including Oprah, The Today Show, Dr. Oz, Anderson Cooper 360, The View, Tavis Smiley, and NPR. He has also been featured in print publications such as Readers Digest, O Magazine, People, The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA Today, Parade, and Black Enterprise.

Notably, Dr Davis received recognition from Oprah Winfrey, who honored him as one of "the premiere role models of the world." He has also received prestigious awards, including Seton Hall University's Most Distinguished Alumnus award in 2021 and the Essence Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. Dr Davis is the youngest physician to be honored with the National Medical Association's highest recognition, the Scroll of Merit Award. Additionally, he was recognized at the 2009 BET Awards.
