Professor of Medicine skilled in Epidemiology, Healthcare Management, Healthcare, and Primary Care. Undergraduate degree from MIT and medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. Completed research fellowship in general medicine at Harvard with research that focused on infectious disease, serious illness, quality of care and patient safety, integrative medicine and innovation in primary care. Has directed Center for Primary Care at Harvard Medical School since 2012 with USNews primary care ranking rising from 17 to eighth. Areas of work in Center include advocacy for family medicine, increased payment for primary care, and global payment, as well as work in practice transformation, research, education and entrepreneurship. Cares for more than 200 patients at BIDMC Healthcare Associates teaching practice.
