Neil Desai

Director of Examinations

Neil Desai is a Senior Quantitative Specialist in Supervision and Regulation at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is a commissioned examiner and part of the Model Risk Management (MRM) steering group at the Fed. Neil has been involved in several system initiatives such as MRM reviews at large banks, the Fed’s FinTech supervisory program, stress-testing activities, CECL implementation reviews, Machine Learning-related supervisory work, and has helped host the Fed’s annual MRM forum since 2018. He is also leading development of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions at the Atlanta Fed. Prior to joining S&R, Neil was in the Research department at the Atlanta Fed where he focused on housing market research. In his spare time, Neil enjoys competing in tennis and is a board member for Southface Institute (a sustainability-focused non-profit). Neil has a Masters degree in Applied Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
