Dr. Hughes is a scientist and leader with over 15 years of experience in behavioral and life sciences, focusing particularly on the role of human behavior in infectious disease and epidemics. She focused on HIV/AIDS in resource limited settings for the majority of her career, ultimately being appointed to key national leadership roles within the Obama/Biden Administration’s global HIV response and advising leadership within the United Nations. Lindsay has been involved in the response to other emergent epidemic threats in the last decade and has worked within bilateral partnerships to shape national policies and regulatory approaches for various indications internationally. She has taught courses at the CDC, USAID, and has held international workshops on these issues in more than a dozen countries. She has spent the last several years in leadership roles in the clinical trials industry, focused on science and strategy in the implementation of electronic data collection systems for clinical trials.
