Jeremy Cauble, Director of Strategic Innovation for Canteen North America, has been exploring innovation in unattended retail for 15 years. The evolution of technology in this space has accelerated rapidly over the past 5 years, and with daily headlines now filled with news of advancements in AI, robotics, machine learning, computer vision, sensor fusion, digital commerce and data analytics, it’s easy to be pulled into too many directions at once trying to chase every shiny new technology and its claimed business benefits. Jeremy’s role is to filter the sea of innovations to find those that are most applicable to the overall success of the business, which means understanding the key stakeholders that drive business success and making sure that each innovation pursued positively impacts at least one, but preferably all, of those stakeholder groups. Through his diversified experience in marketing, digital commerce/SEO, field implementation and customer experience, Jeremy has learned that successful deployment and adoption of new technologies requires thorough exploration and testing, robust and easily accessible training, active communication and collaboration with team members throughout an organization, effective partnerships with clients, and dialogue with customers who will benefit from the implementation of these new technologies and help cultivate future improvements.
