Dr. Evan Rachlin is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Ascenta Capital. He serves as Managing Director at Blackstone Life Sciences. He served as Head of Strategy at Moderna Therapeutics. He also served as a Board Member at Fergene. He serves as Principal at Bain Capital Ventures. He joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2012 to focus on healthcare. Prior to joining Bain Capital, he was an engagement manager in McKinsey & Company's New York office. At McKinsey, he focused on healthcare strategy, operations, and due diligence, particularly in the CRO, mobile health, and systems biology sectors. Before starting at McKinsey in 2010, While pursuing his MD/MBA, he also worked for a regenerative medicine startup and did a summer internship at Pfizer's Portfolio & Decision Analysis group in New York. He received his AB magna cum laude from Harvard College in biochemistry with a language citation in Japanese. While in college, he was editor in chief of Venture, a high-tech entrepreneurship magazine run by Harvard students, which received the nation's highest collegiate publishing award. He received his MD/MBA from Harvard Medical and Business Schools, where he was the co-president of the MD/MBA Association, an officer of the Venture Capital/Private Equity Club, and captain of the Harvard Medical Area soccer team.
