Dana Castro is a Senior Director at HIMSS with over 25 years of information and technology experience. She canvasses geographic adversities that, if digitally reformed, can transform lives for under-represented and marginalized populations. She is an advisor to Pocket Patient MD, a free, secure, dynamic, and universally accessible Digital Health Platform serving low-resourced countries. She is an advisor to GlobalRise, an NGO designing a digital food system connecting small-holder, mountain-dwelling farmers to local markets and health services using drones. Ms. Castro serves on the Host Committee of Maya’s Hope, which works to improve the quality of life of orphaned, impoverished, and special-needs children globally. She resides with her family in Princeton where she has built her lane to live happily in service of others.
