Chris Carnell lead the conceptualization and implementation of programs including the 1ST50K startup competition, Code Labs adult coding bootcamps, large-scale software hackathons, and the Youth Coding League.15+ years working in and alongside tech startups and SME's. Most recently focused efforts on helping regions and communities start and grow their tech-and startup-based economies. Codefi was foundedby tech entrepreneurs who partner with private and public groups to deploy a tech-and startup-based ecosystem to train tech workers and entrepreneurs, build and attract software-focused companies, andcreate community spaces to expand the tech-based economy in small towns and rural communities. Starting as a pilot in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in late 2014, Chris has led the design, development,implementation, and growth of programs that have supported the launch of 80 startups who have raised $40 million in equity investments and created nearly 300 jobs. The programs have trained over 400 adults how to code and have introduced computer programming to thousands of 5th-8th grade students across the nation.
