Anthony R. Callobre concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial lending and finance. His clients include commercial banks, commercial finance companies, hedge funds, private equity groups, and other investors and lenders, as well as corporate credit takers - both financial and strategic. Tony practices across a broad spectrum of the commercial and industrial sector, including debt financing transactions ranging from middle-market to investment-grade credits in the areas of apparel and textiles, beauty and other consumer products, engineering, construction and infrastructure, film finance, fund finance, sports and entertainment, retail, technology, and transportation. He has significant experience with a wide range of debt financing types, including single lender and syndicated credits; senior-secured, second-lien, mezzanine, unitranche, and unsecured facilities; leveraged loans; asset-based loans; fund finance facilities, including capital call and subscription lines, NAV loans, hybrid loans, management company lines, and employee participation loans; film production loans, both single picture and multiple pictures, “slate” loans; cash-flow loans; acquisition finance; recapitalizations; cross-border loans; problem loan restructurings and workouts; 363 sales; and debtor-in-possession financings. Tony received his A.B. in Economics from Brown University and his J.D. and LL.M (Banking Law Studies) degrees from Boston University School of Law. He is currently an Adjunct Instructor for Secured Transactions at the University of California Irvine School of Law. He is consistently ranked by Best Lawyers in America and Chambers & Partners as a leading California banking lawyer and as a “Banking and Finance Visionary” by the Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing's Banking and Finance Magazine. Outside the office, Tony enjoys mid-century modern architecture, Latin music, Notre Dame football, British comedy, and motorcycles.
